a nice thing that someone wrote about my work quite awhile ago (since then I changed the title series to Dreams and Other Existences) on Tumblr that I saved and saw it isn't up anymore:
This contemporary photographer, Heather Musto, has a flair for portraits of children. This series entitled Anna, after the young girl she photographed, chronicles the child’s home life. Her images are a wonderful compilation of the moments of childhood.
Why I am especially fond of Musto’s work is her ability to take the unattractive and make it appealing. The child, Anna, is continually making candid, almost grotesque faces, and yet all the images are completely beautiful.
Her work explores that intimate family connection and the feelings that come from that. In this series, she focuses on one subject and thus explores the family connection through one main point of view. She focuses on the idea of adolescence in this series, as her subject is a young girl, constantly changing and growing.
Also, make sure to visit her blog, it has a lot of interesting photographs that aren’t on her professional website.
